Do not be a REAL ID Scam Victim
Ready to get your REAL ID? Here is what you need to know to avoid being a scam victim.
You cannot apply for the REAL ID online or by mail.
There is no expedited process and no “skipping the line.”
Do not respond to unexpected texts or emails, and do not click on any links from someone who says they are from the DMV or the Department of Homeland Security. (If you think the message could be legit, contact the DMV using a phone number, email, or website you know is real.)
Do not provide personal information or payment to anyone online.
Make an appointment with your local DMV to visit in person. It is the only way to get your REAL ID.
